Her birthplace was in Santa Monica, California on 26 November 1986. The singer is the sole child of Vincenzo Barba. Her family and she moved from Point Pleasant New Jersey when she was just six years old. She completed her education at Red Bank Catholic High School, New Jersey. Following her graduation at Catholic University with a Bachelor's in Architecture, she continued her studies at the university. From the age of 4 She began playing the violin and earned the name Violin Girl. Her name was often used to refer to her first name because of her performances. The children of her neighborhood were taught to play violin by her. She sang Free beginning in 1976 during her audition for the sixth season of American Idol when she was age 19. The show eliminated her at the 16th spot. She has sung several songs such as 2009's "The Christmas song The Christmas Song' as well as the 2010's Out for Blood. Additionally she has been on a few TV shows such as Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Antonella Barba became famous as an American during her time on American Idol's 6th season.
